Rapid Antigen Test Mycoplasma Pneumoniae

Mycoplasma pneumonia (M. Pneumoniae) is a form of bacterial pneumonia caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae. M. pneumoniae is most often responsible for upper respiratory tract infections, but can also cause pneumonia. About 40% of community-acquired pneumonias are due to M. pneumoniae infections, with children and the elderly being the most susceptible. Identifying M. pneumoniae allows for choosing the appropriate therapeutic regimen.
