Transtympanic aerators are small implants that are placed through the tympanic membrane, with the purpose of allowing ventilation of the middle ear and/or drainage of fluids from the cavity to the external auditory canal.
The Shepard model is commonly used in short-term indications. It is available in fluoroplastic with or without a gripping tail.
